- The 13G3 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to Lymphocyte antigen 108, Ly-108
- Ly-108 is a member of the signaling lymphocytic activation molecule (SLAM) family of immune receptors
- Ly-108 is a type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein adhesion receptor that is expressed by T cells, NKT cells, B cells, NK cells, macrophages, dendritic cells and neutrophils
- Ly-108 plays multiple roles in innate and adaptive immunity including costimulation of NK cell cytotoxicity and T cell cytokine responses
- Moreover, Ly-108 has been implicated in autoimmunity
- The antibody was conjugated to BD Horizon™ BB700, which is part of the BD Horizon Brilliant™ Blue family of dyes
- It is a polymer-based tandem dye developed exclusively by BD Biosciences
- With an excitation max of 485 nm and an emission max of 693 nm, BD Horizon BB700 can be excited by the 488 nm laser and detected in a standard PerCP-Cy™5.5 set (eg, 695/40nm filter)
- This dye provides a much brighter alternative to PerCP-Cy5.5 with less cross laser excitation off the 405 nm and 355 nm lasers.BD Horizon Brilliant™ Blue 700 (BB700) is a dye that was exclusively developed by BD Biosciences as brighter alternative to PerCP-Cy5.5
- This dye also has less cross laser excitation off the 405 nm laser, resulting in less spillover into the violet channels compared to PerCP-Cy5.5. Due to similar excitation and emission properties, BD Horizon BB700 and PerCP-Cy5.5 cannot be used simultaneously.
