Test Specificity

Recognizes a protein of 210-220kDa, which is identified as the complement receptor 1 (CR1)/CD35. This monoclonal antibody does not block CR1 activity. It is highly specific to CR1 and shows no cross-reaction with CR2. The primary function of CR1 is to serve as the cellular receptor for C3b and C4b, the most important components of the complement system leading to clearance of foreign macromolecules. The Knops blood group system is a system of antigens located on this protein. Follicular dendritic cells (FDC) are restricted to the B-cell regions of secondary lymphoid follicles. They are CD21+/CD35+/CD1a-. This monoclonal antibody labels follicular dendritic cells and follicular dendritic cell sarcoma.

Antigen:
ABO, Blood Group A Antigen

Classification:
Monoclonal

Conjugate:
Alexa Fluor 350

Formulation:

Gene Symbols:

Immunogen:
Mucin isolated from an ovarian cyst fluid (Uniprot: P16442)

Primary or Secondary:

Test Specificity:
This monoclonal antibody preferably reacts with determinants of chain A and H type 3(Gal1-3GalNAc-R) and 4 (Gal1-3GalNAc-R), but not with type 1 and 2 chain structures. It is not reactive with immuno-dominant A trisaccharide. This monoclonal antibody is applicable for tissue staining in tumor patients with blood groups A and AB. It shows a highly heterogeneous reactivity in human colon tumor tissue and adjacent mucosa. Blood-group antigens are generally defined as molecules formed by sequential addition of saccharides to the carbohydrate side chains of lipids and proteins detected on erythrocytes and certain epithelial cells. The A, B and H antigens are reported to undergo modulation during malignant cellular transformation. Blood group related antigens represent a group of carbohydrate determinants carried on both glycolipids and glycoproteins. They are usually mucin-type, and are detected on erythrocytes, certain epithelial cells, and in secretions of certain individuals. Sixteen gen
