- Heat-mediated antigen retrieval using a sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended for the staining of paraffin sections
- This antibody may be used in Western Blotting applications under either reducing or non-reducing conditions
- Reconstitute with 0.1 mL of distilled water
- For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended (unless the product will be used for functional studies)

- TGF-alpha is an EGF-related polypeptide growth factor that signals through the EGF receptor, and stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of epidermal and epithelial cells
- It is produced by monocytes, keratinocytes, and various tumor cells
- TGF-alpha induces anchorage-independence transformation in cultured cells
- Human, murine and rat TGF-alpha are cross-species reactive
- TGFalpha (aa 50) is a growth factor with 33% homology to EGF, binds to EGFR, activates tyrosine phosphorylation of the receptor, and stimulates cell proliferation
- It plays a role in tumor initiation by inducing the reversible transformed phenotype.
