  • Sorbitol dehydrogenase catalyzes the interconversion of polyols and their corresponding ketoses, and together with aldose reductase is the reduction of glucose to sorbitol by ALDR1 with NADPH as the cofactor
  • SORD then oxidizes the sorbitol to fructose using NADcofactor.
