Description
- This antibody recognizes human EMR1 (EGF-like module containing, mucin-like, hormone receptor-like 1)
- EMR1 is a seven-span transmembrane protein which is a member of the EGF-TM7 family of receptors
- The detailed structure and function of EMR1 is still unknown
- Reconstitute with 1.0 mL distilled water EMR1 has a domain resembling seven transmembrane G protein-coupled hormone receptors (7TM receptors) at its C-terminus
- The N-terminus of the encoded protein has six EGF-like modules, separated from the transmembrane segments by a serine/threonine-rich domain, a feature reminiscent of mucin-like, single-span, integral membrane glycoproteins with adhesive properties
- Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene
- EMR1 is the human ortholog of murine F4/80 but unlike F4/80, the expression of EMR1 in humans is restricted to eosinophils and is not expressed on macrophage populations.
