- CDC42BPA (MRCKA) is a serine/threonine kinase which functions in actin cytoskeleton assembly and organization
- Three independent coiled-coil domains and the N-terminal region preceding the kinase domain are responsible for intermolecular interactions leading to MRCK alpha multimerization
- The transautophosphorylation process is critical for regulation of MRCK alpha catalytic activities
- Binding of phorbol esters to MRCK releases its autoinhibition, allowing N-terminal dimerization and subsequent kinase activation.
