Description

• Capsule Stain Kit Contents: Crystal Violet, Copper Sulfate Solution I - Aqueous Crystal Violet (1%) 250 mL and Solution II - Aqueous Copper Sulfate (20%) 250 mL For in vitro diagnostic use 1 Kit Solution made from certified dyes (when applicable) Recommended Procedure: Grow organisms in ascitic fluid or serum medium, or mix a drop of serum with specimen and from this mixture, prepare smear
• Air dry
• Cover smear with Sol
• for 2 minutes
• Wash off the stain with Sol

• The amount of washing must be determined empirically
• Results: Capsules appear as faint blue halos around dark blue to purple cells.
