Description

  • General description: Diethanolamine (DEA) is an organic chemical compound, which comprises of a secondary amine and a dialcohol. It mainly acts as a weak base. DEA can be used in preparing long-chain fatty acids, namely diethanolamides and diethanolamine salts, which find application in liquid laundry and dishwashing detergents, cosmetics, shampoos, hair conditioners, textile processing, and also in pharmaceutical industries.[1]
  • Application: Diethanolamine may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in air samples, aqueous solutions, and shampoo products by various chromatographic techniques.[2][3][4][5]
