- General description: L-Cystine is an amino acid mainly found in the keratin of hair.[1]
- Application: L-Cystine can be used as a starting material for the synthesis of d-biotin[2], aromatic-bridged cystine cyclic peptides (cystinophanes)[3], chiral imidazolidine disulfides[4] and biodegradable PEGylated gadolinium-diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (Gd-DTPA) L-cystine copolymers.[5]
