- General description: n-dodecyl-β-D-maltoside (DDM) is a sugar-based surfactant.[1]
- Application: n-dodecyl-β-D-maltoside (DDM) has been used to solubilize mitochondrial extracts of fibroblasts to perform one-dimensional blue-native PAGE (BN-PAGE) analysis for assembled oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) complexes.[2]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: n-dodecyl-β-D-maltoside (DDM) exhibits biocompatibility and biodegradability.[1] It serves as a facilitator of electron transfer in order to decrease the oxidation potential of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT). It can also increase the solubility of EDOT in aqueous solution.[1]
