General description: Lyso-phospholipids are non bilayer-forming lipids, which are produced in γ-proteobacteria. They are present in normal bacterial membranes.[1]
Application: 17:1 Lyso PG has been used as a standard for lipid profiling of rat peritoneal surface layers in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) method .[2]
Biochem/physiol Actions: Lyso phosphoglycerol (Lyso PG) and acyl-CoA facilitates the synthesis of phosphoglycerol using lysophosphatidylglycerol acyltransferase 1 (LPGAT1).[3] Lysophospholipids exhibits detergent- like physical property.[1]
