- General description: 1-palmitoyl-2-azelaoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (PAzePC) structure contains an anionic carboxyl group at the end of the short, oxidized acyl chain.[1]
- Application: 1-palmitoyl-2-azelaoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (PazePC) may be used as an oxidized lipid dopant in liposomes for examining the link between the permeation of H2O2 and the structure of lipid membranes.[2] It may also be used as lysosomal phospholipase A2 substrate in the study of structural basis for Zn2+ mediated inhibition of lysosomal phospholipase A2.[3]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: 1-palmitoyl-2-azelaoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (PazePC) is a stable lipid oxidation product.[1] It serves as an inter-H2O2 permeation promoter.[2] It is the most common drug target for antipsychotic and antimicrobial agents in cells under oxidative stress at inflammatory sites.[1]
