- Biochem/physiol Actions: 1,2-dimyristoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-ethylphosphocholine (14:1 EPC) is less toxic and is biodegradable. It is known to possess efficient DNA transfection activity.[1] 14:1 EPC is very closely identical to the natural triacylglyceride lipids.[2]
