- General description: 1,2-dipalmitoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane (16:0 TAP) is a cationic lipid and a diol based transfection reagent.
- Application: 1,2-dipalmitoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane (16:0 TAP) is suitable to prepare lipid monolayer/liposome:to mimic the presence of the cationic charge localized in the membrane for understanding the electrostatic effects in the biological membranes and to study its interaction with zearalenone and selenate ions[1]to study its effect on the L-pro catalyzed reaction[2]to serve as a positive control, to determine the effectiveness of anionic phospholipids for pro-inflammatory responses[3]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: 1,2-dipalmitoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane (16:0 TAP) liposomes are known to promote elevated pro-inflammatory responses.[3]
