- General description: 14:0 Diether PC (phosphocholine) is a glycerophospholipid having choline as the alcohol moiety, attached to the phosphate group. It has two tetradecyl chains attached to the sn-1 and sn-2 positions of the glycerol backbone by ether bonds.[1]
- Application: 14:0 Diether PC or 1,2-di-O-tetradecyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine might be used:to prepare bicelle samples for solid-state NMR experiment[2]to compose isotropically tumbling small bicelles, to study its size and morphology[3]in lipid bicelles to reconstitute EmrE (secondary active transport protein)[4]
