Description

  • Application: L-Glutamine has been used as a media supplement:for cochlear organotypic culturing[1]in Iscove′s modified Dulbecco′s medium for HeLa cells culturing[2]in Dulbecco′s modified Eagle′s medium for primary hepatocyte cell culturing[3]
  • Biochem/physiol Actions: Glutamine mediates protein turnover via cellular mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) signalling. It is also known to be associated with the inhibition of apoptosis.[4]
  • Packaging: 50 mL amber serum vial with rubber stopper.
  • Suitability: Qualified for use in cell culture applications, especially serum-free cell culture.
  • Reconstitution: Prepares a 200 mM solution when reconstituted to 10 mL with sterile water.
  • Other Notes: The dipeptide L-Ala-LGln is frequently used in modern serum-free media formulations because it provides a more stable form of glutamine in vitro.
