Description
- Application: Insulin solution from bovine pancreas has been used:to study the effect of exogenous insulin on plasma concentrations of glucose, insulin, insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I), and progesterone (P4) in pubertal beef heifers[1]to study the insulin responsiveness of the placenta during pregnancy complications using primary human trophoblast cells and placental villous explants[2]to study the effect of insulin receptor signaling dendritic spine density in neonatal mouse hippocampal neurons in vitro[3]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Insulin is a major glucose-lowering hormone, insufficiency of which causes hyperglycemia observed in type 2 diabetes.[4]
