Description

  • General description: Diethanolamine (DEA) is an amino alcohol commonly used in the preparation of soaps and surfactants, in agricultural chemicals and in textile processing.[1] It is used as an absorbent for capturing CO2.[2] Its toxic and carcinogenic effect has been studied.[1]
  • Application: Diethanolamine may be used in the following processes:Preparation of disodiumiminodiacetic acid by dehydrogenation.[3]As a solvent and reactant in triazine based dendrimer synthesis.[4]Preparation of diethanolamine ionic liquids employed in green Heck reaction.[5]
