  • General description: Iridium(IV) chloride hydrate is a black crystallinesolid used as a precursor to synthesize Ir-based catalysts and nanoparticles.
  • Application: Iridium(IV) chloride hydrate can be used:To fabricate an Ir-decorated graphene electrode for vanadium redox flow batteries.[1]As a precursor to synthesize iridium oxide nanoparticles. These nanoparticles can act as a stable catalyst for the hydrogenation of a series of nitrogen heterocycles.[2]To prepare Ir single atom catalyst (Ir1–Ni(OH)2) for oxygen evolution reaction.[3]
