  • General description: Aluminum isopropoxide is a versatile andinexpensive Lewis acid catalyst and dehydrating agent widely used in the fieldof organic transformations, sol-gel processing, and rechargeable batteries.[1][2]
  • Application: Aluminum isopropoxide can be used:As a precursor to synthesize alumina nanoparticles and multimetallic oxides via sol-gel processing.[1][3]As a catalyst for various organic transformations such as Meerwein–Ponndorf–Verley–Oppenauer (MPVO) reactions and ring-opening polymerization of lactides and lactones.[2]As coating material to fabricate electrodes for lithium-ion batteries toenhance cycling stability and performance.[4]
