  • General description: Aluminum hydroxide (Al (OH)3) is an amphoteric compound, soluble in both base and acids. It is used as a precursor for alumina catalysts and flame-retardant materials. Aluminum hydroxide is primarily used as a feedstock to produce other aluminum compounds, including sodium aluminate, activated alumina, aluminum nitrate, zeolites, polyaluminum chloride, aluminum chloride, and specialty calcined aluminas.
  • Application: Aluminum hydroxide may be used:In the preparation of Li2O–Al2O3–SiO2 (LAS) glass-ceramic systems.As a aluminum precursor in the preparation of alumina.
  • Other Notes: may contain aluminum carbonate species
