- General description: Sodium bisulfite is a widely used industrial chemical as a reducing agent, catalyst, and preservative in pharmaceuticals and foods due to its antioxidative and antibacterial effects.
- Application: Sodium bisulfite (NaHSO3) has been used as a reagent to compose the immunoprecipitation (IP) buffer to chemically modify DNA[2] and to synthesize arsenolipids (AsL).[3]It can also be used as a reagent during the synthesis of 5,6-dihydrouracil-6-sulfonate.[4]
