Description

  • General description: 8mol% Yttria doped ceria may be prepared by carbonate coprecipitation technique.[1][2] Yttria doped ceria exhibits high ionic conductivity, low activation energy and small grain boundary resistance. The effect of microstructure on the electrolytic properties was investigated in detail.[2]
  • Application: They are promising ceramic electrolytes for solid oxide fuel cells operating at low temperatures of 500-700°C (IT-SOFC). Doped ceria interlayers in between bulk yttria-stabilized zirconia electrolyte further enhance the performance of SOFCs.
