Description
- General description: Bisoctrizole (UV 360) belongs to the class of benzotriazole UV stabilizers, commercially used in sunscreen formulations. Its mode of action involves a triple effect including UV absorption, light scattering and light reflection.[1] The highly photostable nature of UV 360, makes it feasible to stabilize other organic filters such as avobenzene.[2]
- Application: Bisoctrizole may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in the following:Packaging materials using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with a diode array detector (DAD).[3][3]Seawater samples using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry detection (UHPLC-MS/MS).[1]
