  • General description: MAX phases belong to ternary carbides and nitrides with layered hexagonal crystal structure, and are used as precursors for MXenes [1][2]. Two-dimensional (2D) transition-metal carbides, carbonitrides and nitrides, known as MXenes, have attracted significant attention due to their outstanding electronic, ionic, optical, mechanical, and thermal properties, as well as plasmonic behaviour and versatile/tunable surface chemistries [1][2][3][4]. We offer MAX phase Ti3AlC2 powder with a high assay purity (99.8%), making it ideal for the fresh synthesis of the popular Ti3C2 MXene.
  • Application: MAX phase Ti3AlC2 powder was reported in the synthesis of Ti3C2 MXene for various applications, such as (but not limited to):- Energy conversion (eg: solar cells, photocatalytic fuel production, such as hydrogen evolution from water splitting, and carbon dioxide reduction) and storage (eg: rechargeable Li-ion and beyond batteries, supercapacitors) systems [1][2];- Photocatalytic applications [1][2];- Bio-related applications (eg: drug delivery, neuroelectronic devices, photothermal therapy of cancer, biosensors, and tissue engineering) [3][4].
