- The DrySpot Legionella Latex Test is a latex agglutination test for the identification of Legionella species grown on plate media from patients with suspected legionellosis or from environmental sources
- The DrySpot Legionella Latex Test allows separate identification of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1, serogroups 2–14 and seven other Legionella species that have been implicated in human disease
- Use this dry latex agglutination test for the identification of Legionella pneumophila serogroups 2-14, isolated either from patients with suspected legionellosis or from environmental sources
- Blue latex particles sensitised with specific rabbit antibody are dried onto the test card
- These react with Legionella pneumophila serogroup 2-14 antigen to form agglutination in the test reaction area
- Blue latex particles sensitised with non-reactive rabbit globulins are dried onto the test card
- These provide the control reaction area
