• The DrySpot Legionella Latex Test is a latex agglutination test for the identification of Legionella species grown on plate media from patients with suspected legionellosis or from environmental sources
• The DrySpot Legionella Latex Test allows separate identification of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1, serogroups 2–14 and seven other Legionella species that have been implicated in human disease
• Use this dry latex agglutination test for the identification of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 isolated either from patients with suspected legionellosis or from environmental sources
• Blue latex particles sensitised with specific rabbit antibody are dried onto the test card
• These react with Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 antigen to form agglutination in the test reaction area
• Blue latex particles sensitised with non-reactive rabbit globulins are dried onto the test card to create the control reaction area
