  • Enrich and recover Vibrio species from food, water, and clinical samples with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Alkaline Peptone Water
  • This medium is selective by exploiting the ability of Vibrio species to tolerate alkaline conditions and high sodium chloride levels
  • The peptone content provides the conditions for growth and recovery of Vibrio species, supplying vitamins, minerals, and nitrogen in the form of amino acids
  • Use Alkaline Saline Peptone Water (ISO) for selective recovery and enrichment of Vibrio species
  • Creates strong alkaline and high sodium conditions to provide a selective environment for Vibrio Can be used for direct microscopic examination of samples using the hanging drop method Alkaline Peptone Water was first formulated by Shread, Donovan and Lee 1 to be used as a non-selective enrichment broth for the cultivation of Aeromonas spp
  • Cruickshank reported that when the pH is raised, the medium can be used to effectively cultivate Vibrio species
