Description

  • General description: Magnesium chloride is a common ionic halide that readily dissolves in water. It plays various crucial biological roles in enzymology, cell membrane/wall structure, muscle cell physiology, and nucleic acid composition. Additionally, magnesium chloride serves as an essential co-factor in numerous enzymes, including DNAse, specific restriction enzymes, and Ribonuclease H. It is widely utilized to provide magnesium ions in diverse molecular biology applications, including PCR reactions.
  • Application: Magnesium chloride is widely used to supply the magnesium ion in various molecular biology applications, including PCR reactions and buffers. It has been used - to prepare buffer to lyse cells for immunoprecipitation[1] as a supplement in Krebs-Henseleit buffer in chronic high-fat diet studies of aged mice.[2] in embedding 3-dimensional mtgase hydrogels in invitro studies of osteocyte differentitaion and interconnected cellular networks.[3] It has been used to protect the liver from oxidative damage.[4]to prepare serum-free medium for electrophysiological studies of rat brain slice cultures.[5]
