• Samples are placed into 2.0 mL tubes containing Lysing Matrix M, a 1/4-inch ceramic beads designed to efficiently lyse a variety of tissue samples
• Homogenization in a FastPrep instrument with Lysing Matrix M takes place in the presence of lysing buffer that is provided within this kit and validated to protect and solubilize nucleic acids and proteins upon cell lysis
• Depending on the expected yield of genomic DNA, the DNA can also be eluted with a lower or a higher volume of Elution Buffer
• The minimum elution volume is 50 μL
• If quite large amount of DNA is expected, the volume of elution can be increased (100 to 200 μL)
• To maximize the final yield, we recommend a second elution step with an equal volume of Elution Buffer.
