• Biochem/physiol Actions: DGCR14 (DiGeorge syndrome critical region gene 14) gene is located in the minimal DGS critical region (MDGCR) on chromosome 22q11. This region contains genes responsible for several disorders, such as DiGeorge syndrome, velocardiofacial syndrome, conotruncal anomaly face syndrome, and some familial or sporadic conotruncal cardiac defects. The protein forms a component of the C complex spliceosomes and may be involved in pre-mRNA splicing.
