• General description: PTPN6 (protein tyrosine phosphatase, non-receptor type 6) is a 68kDa cytoplasmic protein that is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic cell development, proliferation and receptor-mediated mitogenic signaling pathways. The gene contains 17 exons spanning 17kb of DNA and is localized to chromosome 12.
