• Immunogen: α-2-HS-glycoprotein precursor recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)
• Application: Anti-AHSG antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . • Biochem/physiol Actions: AHSG (α-2-HS-glycoprotein) gene encodes a glycoprotein that is present in the serum. It is synthesized by hepatocytes. The gene is localized to human chromosome 3q27, a susceptibility locus for type 2 diabetes and the metabolic syndrome. It may be involved in the regulation of postprandial glucose disposal, insulin sensitivity, weight gain, and fat accumulation. It may serve as a potential therapeutic target in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, obesity, and other insulin-resistant conditions. It is an antagonist of transforming growth factor β, regulating cytokine-dependent osteogenesis. It inhibits insulin receptor tyrosine kinase and some protease activities.
