• Biochem/physiol Actions: SAV1, a component of the Hippo pathway, is a molecule associated with the regulation of both cell proliferation and cell death.[1] It is composed of two WW domains and a coiled-coil region. It has been found to be expressed in almost all human cell lines and localizes in both the cytoplasm and nucleus. Previously it was reported that, SAV1 conjugates with the mammalian sterile 20-like kinase 1 (MST1) and forms heterodimer, which plays a major role in MST1-driven cell death signaling pathway.
