• General description: HNF4A (hepatocyte nuclear factor 4, α) is a transcription factor, expressed in liver, kidney, pancreatic islets and intestine. It is a member of the nuclear receptor family of ligand-activated transcription factors.
• Immunogen: Hepatocyte nuclear factor 4-α recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)
• Application: Anti-HNF4A antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . • Biochem/physiol Actions: HNF4A (hepatocyte nuclear factor 4, α) is involved in controlling gene expression of liver, pancreas, kidney, intestine, and other tissues. It activates hepatocyte nuclear factor 1α (HNF1A). The activated HNF1A further triggers liver specific gene expression associated with glucose, cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism. It acts as a biomarker in gastric and breast carcinomas. It has reported that, HNF4A controls glucose-stimulated insulin secretion. Hence, mutation in the HNF4A gene causes hyperinsulinaemic hypoglycaemia and maturity-onset diabetes in early life.
