• Biochem/physiol Actions: ARID3A (AT rich interactive domain 3A) is known as AT-rich interaction domain DNA-binding protein. It is widely distributed in tissues. It is a nuclear matrix-associated transcription factor involved in site-specific DNA binding, stimulation of immunoglobulin heavy chain (IgH) expression and Cyclin E1/E2F-dependent cell cycle progression. In the regulation of IgH expression, it binds to ATC-rich P sites within nuclear matrix attachment regions (MARs) at the IgH transcriptional initiation stage. ARID3A possess p53-binding site for p53 specific response. It has been reported that ARID3A may play a role in growth suppression mediated by p53.
