• General description: HTR1E (5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptor 1E) is specifically expressed in the human frontal cortex and hippocampus.

• Biochem/physiol Actions: HTR1E (5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptor 1E) acts as a serotonin receptor in the peripheral nervous system. The presence of HTR1E in human dorsal root ganglia has been reported. It has the ability to identify any mutation in neurologic and psychiatric diseases. It has been reported that the presence of HTR1E in the human brain may have a correlation with memory.
