• General description: N-methylpurine-DNA glycosylase (MPG) is a mitochondrial DNA repair enzyme. It is expressed in the nucleus and cytoplasm along with mitochondria.
• Immunogen: DNA-3-methyladenine glycosylase recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)
• Application: Anti-MPG antibody is suitable for Far-western blotting. Anti-MPG antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . • Biochem/physiol Actions: N-methylpurine-DNA glycosylase (MPG) directly interacts with mitochondrial single-stranded binding protein (mtSSB) during mitochondrial DNA repair. The elevated expression has been reported in several tumor cells such as breast, lung, and colon cancers. Its N terminal domain interacts with the DNA binding site of the tumor suppressor gene p53 to represses its activity directly. By interacting with p53, it regulates the p53-mediated cell cycle arrest.
