• Immunogen: MDC1 protein.
• Application: Anti-MDC1 protein antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . • Biochem/physiol Actions: MDC1 (Mediator of DNA-damage checkpoint 1) is a chromatin-associated protein consisting of a N-terminal FHA (forkhead-associated) domain, two BRCT (breast cancer susceptibility gene-1 C terminus) domains. It plays a vital role in the DNA repair and/or DNA damage signaling pathways. In DNA damage, hyperphosphorylated MDC1 relocates to the nucleaus in ATM-dependent manner to bind the MRE11 (meiotic recombination 11) complex. Later, it interacts with the phosphorylated histone H2AX via BRCT domain. This interaction further activates the intra-S-phase checkpoint.
