• Biochem/physiol Actions: PDE4DIP (phosphodiesterase 4D interacting protein) gene encodes a protein that functions in the anchoring of phosphodiesterase 4D to the Golgi/centrosome region of the cell. Phosphodiesterase 4D is an enzyme involved in the control of cAMP level. PDE4DIP is also called as Myomegalin, a centrosome and cis-Golgi protein that functions in microtubule (MT) growth from the centrosome and Golgi apparatus. It exists as several isoforms and regulates MT growth in different ways. The isoform, CM-MMG, interacts with the γ-TuRCs and regulates nucleation of MT. Another isoform, EB-MMG, interacts with the plus-end tracking protein, EBI, and regulates MT dynamics.
