Description

• General description: The gene BTG family member 3 (BTG3) is mapped to human chromosome 21q21.1. It belongs to the BTG (B-cell translocation gene) anti-proliferative protein family. The expression of BTG3 is cell cycle dependent and peaks at the end of the G1 phase before the entry of cells in S phase. BTG3 transcript is ubiquitously expressed in adult mice, with highest levels in the heart, lung, kidney, and testis, but low in the spleen and skeletal muscle. BTG3 is also detected in the ovarian fiber cells and fallopian tube. The protein is mainly localized in the nucleus.
