• General description: Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal esterase L3 (UCH-L3) belongs to the category of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs),and is expressed in the brain.[1] The tissue-specific protein has a molecular mass of 26.182Da.

• Biochem/physiol Actions: Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal esterase L3 (UCH-L3) is mainly involved in the regulation of central nervous system. It separates ubiquitin (Ub) from Ub precursors or protein substrates. UCH-L3 hydrolyzes C-terminal extension of mutant ubiquitin.[1]
