• General description: Aspartyl-tRNA synthetase (DARS) contains 501 amino acids and exists as a homodimer.

• Biochem/physiol Actions: Aspartyl-tRNA synthetase (DARS) carries out the attachment of aspartic acid to its specific tRNA. It is a component of the multi-tRNA synthetase complex (MSC). It has been shown that DARS interacts with the AARS-interacting multifunctional protein 2 (AIMP2) and lysyl-tRNA synthetase (KRS).
