• General description: NOP2/Sun RNA methyltransferase family member 5 (NSUN5) is expressed in the skeletal muscles and the gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 7q11.23.

• Biochem/physiol Actions: NOP2/Sun RNA methyltransferase family member 5 (NSUN5) may function as a methyl-transferase which is dependent on S-adenosyl-L-methionine. Deletion in the gene encoding it has been associated with Williams-Beuren syndrome (WBS).
