• General description: The gene ZFAT (zinc finger gene in AITD susceptibility region) is mapped to human chromosome 8q24. It is present in placenta, kidney, spleen, testis and peripheral blood lymphocytes.
• Immunogen: zinc finger and AT hook domain containing recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)

• Biochem/physiol Actions: ZFAT (zinc finger gene in AITD susceptibility region) is a transcription factor and is suggested to be involved in lymphocyte signaling. In immune related cells, ZFAT is proposed to control apoptosis and cell survival. It also participates in endothelium organization and capillary formation. ZFAT is down-regulated in preeclampsia. Polymorphism in ZFAT is linked with severity in Hashimoto′s disease (HD).
