• General description: The GrpE like 1, mitochondrial (GRPEL1) gene, also called human mitochondrial GrpE protein (HMGE), is mapped to human chromosome 4. It has N-terminal substrate binding domain.
• Immunogen: GrpE-like 1, mitochondrial (E. coli) recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)

• Biochem/physiol Actions: The GrpE like 1, mitochondrial (GRPEL1) protein interacts with chaperone proteins DnaK and heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70). GrpEL1 functions as a stress modulator by regulating mitochondrial functions. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in GRPEL1 gene has been observed in gastric cancer cell lines.
