• General description: Immunoglobulin G (IgG) belongs to the immunoglobulin family and is a widely expressed serum antibody. An immunoglobulin has two heavy chains and two light chains connected by a disulfide bond. It is a glycoprotein and mainly helps in immune defense. IgG is a major class of immunoglobulin. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) participates in hypersensitivity type II and type III. Rabbit IgG is further divided into five classes- IgM, IgG, IgA, IgD and IgE. It has only one IgG variant with one interheavy disulfide bridge. It helps in opsonization, complement fixation and antibody dependent cell mediated cytotoxicity.
• Specificity: This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using Rabbit IgG coupled to agarose. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against Anti-Peroxidase, Anti-Goat Serum, Rabbit IgG, Rabbit IgG F(ab′)2 and Rabbit Serum. No reaction was observed against Rabbit IgG F(c) or Human Serum Proteins.
