Description

• General description: Digestion of IgG by papain results in generation of fragment antigen binding (Fab), comprising of one complete L chain and a variable and CH1 region of H chain. Pepsin digestion of IgG results in fragment crystallizable (fc), comprising of the H chain constant region. IgG1 is the most abundant antibody and its deficiency results in hypogammaglobulinemia. IgG2 deficiency increases susceptibility to bacterial infections. IgG3 mediates effector functions and IgG4 is associated with asymptomatic infection. IgG antibody has enormous therapeutic potential and the Fc region is used for the development of therapeutic antibodies.

• Application: Anti-Mouse IgG (H+L), F(ab?)2 fragment, CF™488A antibody produced in goat has been used in the detection of CF488 in human cell lines using confocal fluorescence microscopy and in vinculin cytoskeleton using confocal immunofluorescence imaging.
