• General description: Cluster of differentiation 79A (CD79A), also known as mb-1 gene, is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 19q13.2-13.3. The encoded protein is characterized with a single extracellular immunoglobulin domain, a transmembrane domain and an intracytoplasmic signaling domain with an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM).
• Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 208-222 of human CD79a
• Application: The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis. Suggested working dilution for Flow Cytometry is 5 μg/mL of sample. Indicated dilution is recommended starting point for use of this product. Working concentrations should be determined by the investigator.
• Biochem/physiol Actions: Cluster of differentiation 79A (CD79A) functions as a highly lineage-specific marker of B lymphoid cells. It also plays a crucial role in the diagnosis of acute leukemia. Mutations in the gene might be a cause of agammaglobulinemia. CD79A acts as an potential biomarker for the detection of B lineage neoplasms.
