• General description: Cluster of differentiation 29 (CD29), also known as integrin subunit β 1 (ITGB1), is a mechanosensor, encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 10p11.22. It is present in both normal cells and tumor-associated cells. The encoded protein has ubiquitous expression with a molecular mass of 130kDa.
